Description

An outstanding example of the elaborate 'decorated' style of Gothic architecture and once the wealthiest Welsh medieval monastery. Tintern remains the best preserved abbey in Wales.

Travel by Bus

The nearest bus stop is 300m and served by Stagecoach Red & White service 69 between Chepstow and Monmouth. Services run at two hourly frequencies weekdays. There is no Sunday service.

Travel By Train

The nearest railway station is Chepstow on the Cardiff to Birmingham line. Services run at two hourly frequencies on weekdays. The Abbey is a seven km bus journey from Chepstow.
