Description

There are massive drum towers at each corner of this rectangular Marches fortress which also features beautiful formal gardens.

Travel by Bus

The nearest bus stop is opposite the railway station and 500m from the castle gates which are in themselves two km from the castle. Bryn Melyn Motors service 64 runs each hour from Llangollen for most of the day but there is no Sunday service.

Travel By Train

The nearest railway station is Chirk, on the Shrewsbury to Chester line. Weekday services run hourly for some parts of the day then two hourly. The Castle is approximately a 700m walk from the railway station.
